Brown Boss Jamaica Tours (“we”, “us”) runs private tours and airport transfers in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and the website brownbossjatours.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

If you have a question about your information, contact us at [email protected] or on WhatsApp at +1 876 352-7711.

What we collect and why

When you send a request for a tour or transfer. We collect your name, WhatsApp or phone number, email address if you give it, the tour or transfer you want, your dates, the number of guests and any notes you add, such as your hotel or flight. We use this to reply to you, confirm the details and price, and arrange your pickup. Your request is sent to us by email. If that email fails to send, a copy is kept on our website so your request is not lost. The website keeps no more than the 50 most recent of these copies.

When you book and pay. We collect your name, email address, phone number and billing address, and the details of what you booked. We use this to confirm and deliver your booking and to keep the business records the law requires. Payments are handled by PayPal. Your card details go straight to PayPal; we never see or store your full card number.

When you join our mailing list. If you tick the box to receive emails from us, we keep your email address to send you news and offers. Every email has a link to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time.

When you browse the site. Like most websites, our server and security tools record technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. We use it to keep the site secure, block attacks and spam, and understand which pages are useful.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the services we need to run the business and the website:

  • PayPal, to process payments. PayPal’s own privacy policy applies to the payment.
  • WhatsApp (Meta), when we message you there to confirm your booking.
  • Hostinger, which hosts the website and our email, and its content delivery network, which helps the site load quickly and filters attacks.
  • Tech Teki, our website provider, which runs Teki Analytics. It records visits to our pages, such as the page viewed, the site you came from, your type of device and your approximate location, so we can see how the site is used.
  • Wordfence, a security service on our website that checks visits for attacks and may record IP addresses to block them.
  • Drivers and tour partners, only the details they need to carry out your booking, such as your name, pickup point and time.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

Content from other websites

Some pages show videos from YouTube and use fonts from Google Fonts. When these load, YouTube and Google may receive your IP address and set their own cookies. Our pages also link to Facebook, Instagram, TripAdvisor and YouTube. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

Cookies

Cookies are small files your browser stores. We use them to:

  • keep items in your cart and run checkout;
  • keep the site secure;
  • remember settings if you log in to an account.

PayPal, YouTube and Google may set their own cookies when their content loads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but checkout may not work without them.

How long we keep it

  • Requests: as long as we need them to answer you and arrange your trip.
  • Bookings and payments: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Mailing list: until you unsubscribe.
  • Security and visit logs: for a limited period, then they are deleted automatically.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct anything that is wrong;
  • delete your information, unless we must keep it by law;
  • stop sending you marketing emails.

To make a request, email [email protected]. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not happy with how we handle your information, you can complain to Jamaica’s Office of the Information Commissioner. If you live in another country, you may also contact your local data protection authority.

Children

Our tours are booked by adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children. A parent or guardian books on a child’s behalf.

Keeping your information safe

The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, a security firewall and up-to-date software. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
